Dear European and German Kyudojin!
This year, once again after 1980, 1987, 1998 and 2000, the German Kyudo Federation has the pleasure of hosting the EKF Summer Seminars. Interest in Kyudo is growing from year to year as well as the interest in these eminars. We are hoping that, despite the growing number of members and the therefore rising number of participants, there will be the possibility for all who are interested to attend. For the majority of the Kyudojin these Seminars are a special and rare opportunity to be teached and to learn from experienced and high ranking Japanese Sensei.
2009 Germany is celebrating 40 years of Kyudo. Also quite a few of the other EKF Member Federations can look back on a long and fruitful history. A positive and longlasting development of Kyudo in Europe is possible when based on working together across the borders and trying to pursue the same goals. Part of this should be that all countries make contributions according to their possibilities, strenghtening the Kyudo community in this way.

As hosting Federation of this years EKF-Seminars we hope that the German Kyudojin will support this project at their best and welcome all our foreign guests. In behalf of the executive committee of the German Kyudo Federation I am wishing all participants successful Seminars and examinations and our foreign guests a pleasant stay in Germany.
